Graduation Shoot // Mill St. Bridge

Meet Chelle. She is graduating from UTSA this May and wanted to set up a shoot to put pictures on her not-so-traditional announcements and invitations (through Snapfish). So we journeyed down to a lesser-traveled bridge in New Braunfels to snap a few shots.

She wanted the "shoe shot" that is in the style of another photographer she loves (thanks Pink Posh). I think it turned out alright.

So they say you should never shoot from below... but sometimes rules are made to be broken.

Waterfalls in the background... easy money.

"They" also say not to shoot into the sun, but I think it added a cool effect.

It's hard to beat waterside shots though. They're like magic.

Photography on a Budget

Since my wedding in 2006, I've been interested in providing affordable, quality photography for people working with a budget much like mine. For most people, especially in this struggling economy, spending $1,000 dollars or more on event photography is just out of the question.

Since I'm just getting into event photography, you'll be hard pressed to find prices like mine. In an effort to build my portfolio, I'm offering shoe-string budget pricing for your event. You may have heard the old saying, "You get what you pay for," but I hope that you take a chance on me- it may just be the best deal you've found in a long time.

Weddings, sports, family portraits, maternity portraits, baptisms, quinceneras, family reunions... you get the idea.

I will be posting samples of my work in the following posts, along with monthly specials, so keep checking back.

If you have questions, I can be reached at mgrantphotography@gmail.com, or call or send a text to 210.862.7307.

three:seventeen photography: genesis

Slices of time. We live out our lives, and only occasionally a memory is made. It's a mystery to me how and when certain memories are made... they get created when you least expect them, and sometimes don't get made no matter how hard we try or purpose in our hearts to create them. I'm not sure where we keep all our memories. It seems like they like to hide somewhere, set adrift until something comes along to wash them to the shore, like a song, a scent, or a picture.

It seems like I don't have too many memories, at least not as many as I believe I should have. I grew up before this beautiful digital age. These days, we can take pictures until our arms get tired of holding the camera, or the battery runs out, or our memory card gets overcrowded. No more film, no more "22 pictures left" read outs on the camera. Now, more of our memories can be coaxed back to shore. Of course, not every memory is a "good" one, but they make up who we are, and we need them on the shore every now and again.

Beautiful.
